hi there I was wanting to know how you tell if the head gasket is gone as I have just changed the gear box oil and it was grey in colour is normal or not

the head gasket is not going to affect your tranny oil however your water pump could. also have you been ridding in deep water? and has your tranny been making any strage noises or actions? the reason i ask the last question is when you say the fluid was grey I wanted to make sure its not grey from metal although I doubt thats the case. it seems the most common cause of your described problem is the water pump. how long has it been since you had last changed your oil?
