Has any modified their non-reed valve piston after they put a reed valve in? I put a reed valve on my 72 Husqvarna and want to know how to do it and if there's a big difference in performance. :ugg:

OK, I modified my non-reed valve piston per specs from Husky Club News #23. I milled 1/2" off the intake skirt and ported the piston. Wow, what great low end response now! I'll put it through the test this weekend when I can get it really warmed up and open it up.

I took out the Husky and warmed it up good. Boy what a difference with the ported piston. If you put reed valves on your Husky without porting the piston you need to do this. I still need to re-jet for a better bottom end but the mid to top end is just flat out hold on and go. I'll race it this weekend and see how it does.
