1) your physical size (both height and weight are important) 5'7" 145 lbs 2) How physical / aggressive are you ? scale 1-10 about a 6-7 3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ????? woods/fields mainly 4) Do you have any riding experience? 3 years on trail bikes(XRs/TTRs) and 3 years on four wheels and a good bit of time on my friends RMZ250. 5) Do you think you will race ? no 6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? i am mechanically inclined and will be doing all my own work 7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)? any brand, 2/4 stroke still trying to decide 8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry? KTM/Suzuki/Honda/Yamaha//Kawasaki are all with in an hour some with 2 dealers. 9) How much ($) do you plan to spend on a bike? 2000-3000 10) Do you live in California? no 11) Your age? 20 12) anything else that you think would help form an opinion: I went and looked at a 2004 RM250 today. It had a ProCircuit Pipe/Silencer, stage 3 reeds, handguards, 49T sproket, and an offroad tank. The bike has all the mods i would want. The power comes on smooth and isn't violent at all compared to some of the other 2t's i've tested. However, the power shouldnt be a problem. He is asking 2000 negotiable. The bike has been sitting for a while and hasnt been ridden at all in the past year or so. It needs a new graphics kit but the plastic is in great shape. He used the bike for a little mx and woods for a short period of time before he bought a 05 CR450F then a 07 KTM300. Any suggestions? My dad wants me to go with a 2t and i've found alot better deals on them but the newer 4t's are just so nice and i love the torque. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
