I would guess you could get away with towing a 3-rail with your bike on it. Does your escort have a tow rating?

In my whole life, I've never skied. How come I ain't dead?

yes

hey, im working in a hitch shop. They shopuld make a hitch for your escort and if they can can make you a custom one. With a 1700 lb tow rating you shoud be fine to pull a small bike trailer and even two bikes, but youll have no pick-up if you go much higher than that...good luck

I towed my CR 125 on a 3 rail trailer with my Chevette back in the day. I never had any problems. I latter towed it with a VW Jetta. Whatch the tounge weight and trailer size and then go for it.

When I was a kid and broke, my race rig was a Honda CRX. I got an old pop up camper from a freind and made a one bike trailer out of it. It was awsome the trailer was less than 150 lbs. I would stuff all my tools, gas, gear, bike stand, cooler ect... in the hatch back and off to the races I would go. That little honda could go over a hundred fully loaded pulling a zook and olny cost ten bucks to fill up. My race rig now is a gas sucking pig that cost 50 or 60 bucks to fill and it will only do 90mph, dam I miss that little honda. :)

I haul my bike with a Honda Accord all the time. I think of it like this. (How's this for scientific). My car has 5 seats, lets just use 4 of them. I figure I should be able to fit (4) 250lb guys in there and the car should be designed for atleast that, right? Well, I weigh 195, my bike weighs 195, the trailer weighs about 250, and I have about 25 lbs of gear and gas. So, 195+195+250+25=665lbs...... (4) guys at 250= 1000lbs. So that leaves an extra 335lbs. Enough for an extra small guy and a 125 ;)

I'm pulling a small utility trailer with both my bikes in it using my new 02 VW jetta turbo wagon. It's rated for 1500 lbs and has no trouble. picked up my KDX in northern Ohio from E-Bay purchase, 800 mile round trip, including snow storm in Rochester NY, no problem. The turbo is the key, you don't even know anything is back there.

Well...I saw a guy put a stand up jetski in the back of his Escort hatchback at the launch the other day...They weigh about 300-400 pounds. I couldn't believe it, he pushed his ski up the ramp, ran up got in his car, backed it down and popped the hatch. I was like "He's not gonna...well I guess so!" He only had minor problems making it up the steep ramp with that much weight.
