I am looking at purchasing an 04 CR450F. The guy from the bike shop told me it is going to need a new valve soon. I have seen where the valves on the CRF's are a bit on the iffy side?

If I do purchase it, what does a set of kibblewhite valves/springs run and where do you pick em up?

Also, I know a machine shop that can recut the seals, but should I oversize the valves? Basically what can I do to extend valve life?

Think long and hard before buying a used 4 stroke with a known problem. Unless the price is great I would run. I bought an 02 CRF450 that was supposed be in decent shape. 2 months later it needed a full top end. I think I was in for about $1000 in parts.

Maybe its just me but I have bad luck with used bikes.
