1996/97 Yz250

Hey guys, I just sold my 86 Yz250 a few months ago and now I'm getting closer to buying another bike, I love Yamaha and I am going with a YZ 250 and I should have enough money for a 96 or 97. My question is...I heard these bikes have a 6 speed tranny?? That just seemed strange to me since most 250's have a 5 speed tranny, and also on the 96 it said it had a gear driven oil pump??? If anyone knows anything about either of these two characteristics of the Yz please let me know, and please give me some insight on these bikes and if you've had one did you like it or not. I love mine. I believe it only has a 5 speed tranny. I have no qualms with my 97. You're about 6 mos. early on this, becaue I plan on unloading mine sometime this year for a 2000 or so 426. I reckon you could get one in real good shape for under $2500.
