I rebuilt the engine on a 1982 Suzuki PE175 for my brother. The carb on the bike needs most all of the parts replaced, so I was thinking of swapping it for an extra one that I have.
The bike came stock with a 34mm VM Mikuni and I have a brand new 32mm VM Mikuni that I could put on it.
The stock carb has 2.0 slide cutaway, 6dp17 jet needle, 2.5 air jet, 25 pilot jet and a 250 main jet.
The new Carb i have has a 3.0 cutaway, 6dp17 needle, 2.0 air jet, 35 pilot jet and a 200 main jet.

Other than changing the main jet on the new carb to a 250 what else do I need to change? How is the smaller carb size and different cutaway going to effect how the engine runs?
Thanks for the Help,
Cody

Well you are getting a stronger signal for the smaller carb so it may tend to ‘suck’ more for the same size jets if you see what I mean.

But nothing is hard & fast esp with different airjet. Just try it -erring toward the larger jets & you can always come down a bit if it is too rich.
