why Jawbone? In my opion the best riding is around Randsburg (15 miles east of Jawbone). Camping is nice in the Spangler Hills area. 58,000 acres of open riding. Tons of single track, Hills, Go where you want, Nice 40 mile loop from Charlies Place (off Trona Rd about 3 miles north of the intersection of Trona and Searless Station). There is great beginner, intermediate and advance riding. I always take people to the Sand Hills area off Trona Rd and over some closed trails that offer some awsome single track between Trona Rd and 395. There is a great mine to play around too. The hills behind Randsburg are very fun. Mostly rocky. Fun climbs to some challenging climbs. Lots of semi trials type riding at the top. Fun ledges to go off. Yes, you can get there from Jawbone. By offroad you would go over 14 and through the El Paso Mtns. By the way there is some great no no trails in the El Paso Mtns. I had some locals a few years ago show me around. Very nice single track. Intermediate ability. There is a map called "Friends of Jawbone Cyn". You can buy in Randsburg for $3.00. By the way Randsburg allows off road vehicles to ride on their paved roads. It is illegal but everyone does it. On busy weekends the cops hang out. They don't ticket you unless you go wild. Kids, women, men, riding dirt bikes, rail frames, etc. Milkshakes, Hamburgers, beer, etc. The loop from Jawbone would be around 50 miles by the El Paso Mtns. I may come. Doug The Tortoise
