CR 80 Clutch not working properly

I got a 1982 CR 80 about a year ago and it wasn't running. My dad and I got a new crank and piston because that was what was wrong with it. We had it going but the pipe bolts were striped and the kicker was stuck down. I took the side cover off a clip my dad put on there shouldn't have been there so we took it off so it worked fine. and we put new threads for the pipe. know the clutch will engage a bit but wont idle stoped in gear. You also can't push it in gear anymore.

You're clutch basket is probably worn out.. Look for notches on the tabs..

Ill check for that just i had it running perfect now i took it apart and it the clutch wont work.

got the cover taken off and it looked ok. Put it back on and I had to tighten the cable tighter than before.

Hmmm.. you have something wrong on that clutch, no doubt.

the clutch seemed to look just like before so i can't see what could have happened. Unless i hit it as i was putting the cover on.

this is how your clutch is assembled...
don´t forgot that rod (nº 8) in the clutch cover...

I already checked for that rod when i put it together. Its working again i just had to adjust it farther than before.
