look in my gallery youll see the CR500af motarded street legal version.
it can hang with most anything "stock" in the 1/8th..but not a quarter.
(its geared 15/38)

in the quarter your dads harley will win.no doubts!
mainly because of gearing
1/8th mile would be close on a geared up cr125 vs stock harley lowrider?
1/16 mile i think youd take him.

LOL David T-
i have some RS125 tires on an CR80 super motard :)

Rich ..lol I'm not sure i would call that "friends" but yea we all know each other well.

Chumbucket.
It doesnt take all that much to street legal a CR500 in Indiana.
Lights..brake lights, turn signals , horn, mirror. Dot Tires.
Street legal kits readily available from two aftermarket companies.
E-line and electrex. Probably some others.
Then you take the properly modified bike to the local DMV fill out the paperwork and have an officer inspect it and sign off. send it in with the
title and licensing fees.
Its fairly painless here, and I can sell them as new street legal units.

Obviously Cali laws would make it more challenging but not impossible...my guess is a motarded XR650R would pass easily and be simple paperwork and small conversion.
a CR500 might take a bit of research and work but i'm quite sure its possible.
I know one guy in cali with a street legal CR500AF.

Keep in mind any unit with a production base of less than 100 units per year, is exempt from federal and most state EPA emission guidelines.
( i do not manufactuer 100 street legal "AF's" per year ,ie : the CR500AFSL ,
if i did a whole new buearucratic red tape process insues that would numb anyones brain to mush )
