My friend with the 2003 cr250 that was running backwards finally figured out what was causing the problem. When he put the ignition pulser coil back on, he didn't allow enough of an air gap causing the pickup to hit the pulser coil. Essentially the bike was firing when it was susposed to and again 180 degrees out. The stator assembly is still good but the pulser coil is shredded. Does anyone know where to buy just the pulser coil for this bike? Moose and honda both have replacements but only sell the whole assembly, 250-360 bucks! That's one hell of a blow to his pocket. If you ever remove your pulser coil make sure you use a feeler gauge to check for clearence! Should be around .014 in.
