new top end... oil coming out of pipe!!!!

i just had a shop here in town rebuild the top end on my 95 cr 250 but now when it starts oil shoots out of the pipe until its almost empty. HELP :bang:

i think its oil out of the bottom end... if i only put half of a quart of oil in it doesnt do it.
i thought maybe the guy who rebuilt it didnt put a seal in properly.

Right side crankshaft seal.

Remove the side cover, clutch, pinyon gear on the crank and pry the old seal out. Use a socket that is slightly smaller than the new seal to drive it back in. Place a chunk of aluminum or another pinyon gear between the pinyon gear and the clutch gear to lock the crank while loosening and tightening the crank nut.

Same seal.

Right side crankshaft seal.

If it is draining the gearbox of oil, it would be the right side crank seal. If it were the left side seal it would suck air and would either not start or would over rev.

Both seals can be replaced without splitting the cases.
