My hubby bought a 1997 CR500 yesterday. We are looking for a place to take it out Saturday and get used to it. He is currently riding an XR650R, but wanted a 2-stroke also. All suggestions welcome.

El Mirage is great for testing and learning. When I taught my son to ride I took him out there and pointed him to the center of the lakebed. If you do go out there be sure to park far away from the inlet. It gets kinda crazy.
