Thanks, but it was mother nature more than me. The light was coming in just right through the buildings and over the river that day, so the reflections off the buildings and the water were really cool. The river didn't look as murky as it usually does.

I have a bunch of pictures from that day that I haven't gone through yet. That one was just sort of a random grab from a group that all sort of looked alike. I should go through them and see if there are any real keepers in the bunch.

As effects go, I'm diggin this one ... realistic, no. But when I get a rather boring shot (often, lol) I can at least make it a little more interesting. No, I'm not saying this is boring at all, the effect just looks like the movie when applied to buildings. Pretty cool on landscapes too.

You're right, it was a boring picture to start with. :) Most of the shots I took that day looked sort of boring on the LCD. That's probably why I haven't done anything with them so far. They looked OK in the viewfinder but nothing really grabbed me when I reviewed them.

It's OK, I'm saying it. ;)

Another example from the same day shooting . Nice colors, good scenery, but it just doesn't POP like I wanted it to.

That one (with Marina Towers in it) is without doubt the best shot you've posted. Excellent IMHO.
If you're referring to the last one, then I agree. I like the angle.

I like the shot as is Lou. Rotate it 1-2 degrees CCW to square the bridge line and a little crop makes a really nice pic.

As long as we are still on the Chicago / water theme here's another pic from this morning.

It's birds. I was paying attention to the ducks and didn't notice the birds up top coming across when I pulled the trigger. :bang:

One more before I head out to go riding.
