Just wondering if anyone has any info on this topic. I just got a good talk to by a Stonyford Ranger who informed me that my Stoker SX1 pipe which says 'Forestry Approved Spark Arrestor" in fact is not a legal spark arrestor at all. Stroker just put it on to sell their pipes and has never submitted their pipe for testing by the SDTDC. Just feel like I got raped and want a new legal pipe. I cant even go riding now, since if he sees me I get a ticket for no spark arrestor.

Anyone have any other info????
He also handed me a whole list of other mfg pipes which arent legal either.

The one time I got stoped by a ranger, all he cared about was the five buck parking fee. By the way, are stock pipes spark legal?

The ranger needs to be brought up to date.
This all came out in the open back in October or so.
Most companies use a Krizman spark arrestor to get their muffler approved.
The Krizman is USFS approved.
Basically someone within the Forestry Service noticed all of these mufflers from "non approved" brands & overreacted, sending out a list of "illegal" mufflers without realizing the internals were approved, just under another manufacturer's name.

I also got stopped at Stoneyford.
I had a sparky core in my Arrow.
No Go, 300$ fine.
It must be stamped on the outside, even if you have approved guts.
