I have a 98 KDX and have the motor just the way I want. The problem is that the suspension is not at all what I want. Here is my question: Can a tuner modify the stock suspension so it approaches the performance of the newer suspensions? If not, what characteristics would be way short of modern suspension performance?

Also, how much would a fork brace help with flex? Are there other benefits to a fork brace?

It won't be modern, but you can make it better. Call up a few suspension tuners and ask what they can do for your specific needs.
