Guys

I sold the four stroke and got back on a 2. Im pretty weak in the tuning area and wonder if I have a problem.

My son and I were in the desert last weekend. I let him play around on the bike before leaving. When he pulled back up to the truck I could smell what seemed to be electrical burning. After sniffing around I could tell it was coming from the exhaust pipe. Im not sure what jetting is in the bike but it runs really strong and doesnt seem to be overheating. I plan on taking the jetting back stock when I get home but thought I would get some opinions first.

Bike and conditions.

When riding in the desert you are able to open the bike up more and ride it a bit higher in the rpm range. This increases pipe temperature and can burn off any oil residue left behind from riding the bike a little less spiritedly.

More than likely what you are smelling is that oil residue burning off.
