Simple question....I think?
I just picked up a new top end gasket kit and it has a metal and a fiber headgasket. Interestingly, the last time I replaced the head gasket, it was a metal one only???
The question is: where does the metal gasket get placed? Does it get placed on the cylinder side or the head side?
Also, does anyone know why I received a fiber gasket in this kit while the other head gasket was just a metal one? This may explain why I was having coolant leak problems before since this fiber gasket will undoubtedly help sealing the area.
I would also suspect that a drop in compression will exist as well since the fiber gasket will put more distance between the head and the cylinder.
