I bought this bike used as a toy and it wasn't running, found a bad coil and replaced it. Road it for 3 hours and it died, bad coil. I then bought a farely new stator and used coil off ebay, road it for 10 minutes, burned coil. What's up with this thing?

I checked the ignition side wiring and it's perfect, the lighting side has been modified and has acerbis parts spliced in with an on/off switch. I did not mess with the light side at all because it shouldn't have anything to do with the ignition side, this last time the swith was off.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am not 100% familar with the schematic of the wiring on your bike, however it sounds like a voltage limiter/ voltage regulator issue. The only way I can imagine that your burning up ignitions is by appling to high of voltage, (and thus too much current is flowing). The limiter might clip any excessive voltage to a level safe for the ignition. Just a thought,
