Anyone know if you need special tools to work on
ohlins shock and forks?
Are they the same inside as kyb,wp,ect that I have
worked on?
Just wondering before I try to help a friend and not get
myself in trouble.
Thanks overbore.
For the shock, there's nothing too critical, other than having an injection needle to discharge and charge nitrogen.
On the fork, it's a little more complicated and there are a couple of special tools that are needed, and a few more that would be nice to have. Indeed a bit of a pain to work on. If it's for a buddy, I'd suggest you send him to a Suspension shop. If your serouis about working on them for yourself, then it might be worth the investment in tooling, but I doubt it. The tools are quite expensive from Ohlins so be warned. I ended up making my own, but am fortunate enough to have access to a lathe and milling machine.
