Hey all!

I have a 5.10-18 rear tire on my 96 WR250 that's far past it's lifespan.

What is the equivalent in metric? 120/100-18? 120 mm is about 5.1 inches. I want to spoon a dunlop D739 Desert/AT on there in that size for mainly desert/enduro riding.

Is this about the proper equivalent? Any gains by going smaller in width? Any recommendations besides the D739 Desert?

Thanks a bunch!

Also thinking about putting another IRC VE-33 Enduro tire on there (stock tire I believe) as it's done a very nice job.

I can get that in 110/100-18 or 5.10-18. IS there any freakin' difference!? The more and more I work on my dirtbike, the more I disown anything that's not metric. :scream:

I think a 110-100/18 is standard size for a bike that size. I could be wrong. Also, different manufacturers size their tires a bit differently. I ran the 110-100/18 on my DRZ400 and run that on my kTm 250 (that's the stock size for both of those bikes). Occasionally, you can have clearance problems by going bigger than stock sizing on tires, and once it's mounted, you can't take it back. I think the 110-100/18 will have plenty of meat for a bike that size. Maybe someone else can add to this.

110/100-18 should equate out to 110mm width/100% sidewall aspect ratio-18"rim

there are 25.4mms to an inch so a 110 should be about 4.33" wide and about 26.66" tall...... I don't know if the tire manufacturers include the lugs (aka.. knobbies) or not in their specifications.

(width x aspect ratio) x 2 + rim diameter = Height

Height of a tire is of greater importance than width due to the effect on the gearing it can have (IMHO).
