I ordered a new set of rear shock bearings for my 2000 yz 250, and am just about to pick them up at the shop. I have already taken out the rear shock, but I am wondering if i will be able to get the new bearings in myself or will i need to take them to a shop and have them pressed? I would prefer to do them myself, but do not want to ruin them, so any helful hints will be very appreciated. Also, I ordered linkage and swingarm bearing kits as well...will I be able to do those or do they need to be pressed also? Thanks for any advice.

A bit of heat is always a good idea. Think carefully before you do anything. A hammer will likely get you into trouble, however careful use of a bench vice and the correct size sockets (if space allows) will press the old bearing out (into a bigger socket or whatever on the other side) if you see what I mean.

Heat sw arm & freeze bearings & press in place with vice again
