restoring/cleaning Rm100

Hi im restoring a rm100 and i was wondering what was the best way to clean up the engine and whole bike. Also eventually I would like to paint the engine and frame. Is painting something I should have professionally done or is it a DIY kinda thing.

take everything apart toothbrushes for small stuff and whatnot, as far as painting goes i would get it profesionally done like powdercoated just cuz its alot easier cleaner and quicker
