I am heading up to Wolverine on Wednesday June 16th. I am from the Chicagoland area. We are going thanks to the recommendations of you fine folks. Was wondering if anyone could suggest a good camping area to access the best trails in that area. If so, where would I find the campground. This will be our first trip to that area.

Also, any suggestions on loops that we should hit while there?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Weber lake campground. Great place to stay. Its just about 1/2 mile down the road to the staging area. I think you can actually ride down the road leagaly from Weber lake to the staging area.

Here is a few pictures of the campground.

You can see the campground here on this map just north east of the parking lot at the southern edge of the "B" loop.

And here is the campground.

Loop B is the best of the three in the Wolverine area. They rerouted some of the trail last year and it was an improvement!

familtmxer - Check the thread 'DNR at Wolverine". To ride out of Weber Lake campground legal on your bike, means licensed.
How close to Chicago? I'm in Westmont.

Young Ted,

I live in Lemont and work in Burr Ridge. Very familiar with Westmont. Do a lot of District 17 racing out at Joliet, Sunset Ridge, Byron, Mendota, etc. I have 2 sons, age 6 & 8, that love MX/SX and we go on a few long weekend trips to do some trail riding so Dad gets the opportunity to ride also.

How about you? Do you get out riding alot? Where do like to go?

Bob
