Hi All, Just joined and my first post
Can anyone give me some experiances regarding power on the yamaha wr 200
I have just purchased a second hand one in the United Kingdom, it is road registered as a 1998, having viewed the previous forum topics it would transpire that this model was a short production one way back in the early nineties
It starts always after the second kick, the carb is clean(Mikuni t30ss) the electronic powervalve is set up correctley just bought a new servo from yamaha £250
Standard gearbox ratio and sprockets(15/52),stock front pipe & dep silencer
The symptoms i have is low bottem end torque, the bike pulls like a train and tops at around 80MPH
I would have thought the bike should power weelie in the low gears, but it does not
I have a yamaha service manual, the overview is this was a race bike, but with a low torque bottom end and 80MPH top end i can only summise this was for flat out straight road racing and not offroad competion ?
Maybe be its me who has got it wrong
I would apprieciate any members past experiances on this bike
Kind regards Dea-tor United kingdom :ride:
