I don't think the 2 stroke is dead. Even if they stop making them, you'll be able to get parts for a long , long time. I don't mind the maint. on a 2 stroke, but it is lost riding time.
I know it's a race machine and not your ordinary 4 stroke, but it's still a 4 stroke , a hot rodded 4 stroke that runs nicer in the woods. If the people saying it's feel is betwwen a 250 (2) and 125 (2) that's even sweeter. I've only checked it out on the showroom floor and the weight feels great. I bet I would fall in love with that bike. I would take a ride on one in a heartbeat, given the chance, but all I've seen around here are 400 and 426 f's. No 250's.
I wish I was in your shoes right now with your choices, but I'm not. I have my 250 2 stroke, have it set up to run nicely in the woods, and will probably keep it for a long time. I just think the 250f could be the 'perfect' woodsbike. lotta fun and easy to ride.
Good Luck,
Joe
