95 YZ250 front suspension grief

Take this for what is worth, but I've been away for the dirt for awhile. In the midst the bikes have changed, so I'm slightly unfamiliar with the new designs. I've decided to do the dirt again and purchased a 95 Yz 250 and my problem is; in the front end I've found that within the damper tube there is another tube naturally of a smaller dia. that I believe they call a push rod. Now here's my problem in on leg I found only the pushrod, however in the other I have found the previously mentioned parts as well as two small devices that have small ports/orfice's in one end and either flow from the center out to the side or vise/versa and the other end will fit within the said push rod, which is where I found the mystery parts, one on top of the push rod and one on the bottom. I'm guessing one per/leg where do they actually belong ??????????????????? Thanks
