Congrats on your success.

I did well for a few months. Then smoked for a couple weeks and stopped for a few more months. Now Im smoking again.

I figured out that my trigger is boredom. I was out of town with nothing to do the first time and off for 2 weeks this last time. I plan on stopping again next weekend. Hopefully its the last time.

I've watched this thread for weeks now. I've been envious of those of you who have quit and succeeded. I've been smoking for 13 yrs and tried quitting once before. There are so many reasons why I'm tired of being a smoker and I keep reminding myself of them every minute of the day. TODAY is the day for me to say enough.

Thanks for keeping me in mind guys. :) As you all remember I quit a few months after some of you in this thread. I will hit my 5 yr mark as well, but not until March 29th. Still one of the best things I've ever done. Thanks for reminding me how much help you guys were back then.

The only downside is that I'm still at my ex-smoker weight of 255lbs. Now we need to start a "Quit Eating" thread so I can join in on that one.

How is everyone doing with their smoking or lack thereof?

I hit the 10 year mark smoke free this morning! To think if I hadn't quit smoking I probably wouldn't have met you fools (I mean that in the most loving way). :)

I'm going to try again. I saw where Okie has had early success and I've been mulling it over for some time now.

Excellent! Mulling is a good start.

I actually thought about this thread bc a coworker of mine is attempting to quit smoking. I told him it had been 7 yrs and I told him about all the members on here who started this. Reading back through all the old posts reminds me of how inspirational this thread was to me. Hope it will do the same for you "mullers" and closet readers to quit too. :)

I quit Christmas day, as did my wife. We spent the first week or so avoiding eachother (If you even look at me I'll rip your head off.)

It's amazing how quickly stamina comes back... I could tell after only one week while pushing it in the woods and not anywhere close to being as winded.

I'm good at quiting, but better at starting-up again... but this time is different, I'm sick and tired of such a filthy habit owning me.
