I've got VForce 2 Reeds in my CR250 right now and probably should replace the reeds. So it got me to thinkin, is there a big difference in the newer VF3's? cause i'd cost me an extra hundo to get the newer reeds and cage, or would you suggest just stickin to the VF2's?

The difference is probably going to be minimal. If I were you I would just stick with the 2's for how much the new ones cost.

I never used the "2". I went from stock Honda cage with Boyseen CF Reeds to the "3" On my 99 CR250. If I remember correctly, the 2 look like the traditional V shaped reed cage and the 3 is W shaped and uses 4 reed plates. I know that the 3 was the best power adder I had ever put on a 2 smoke. Better than the FMF Fattty and Power Core 2. It made the bike much more crisp at all throtle positions, reved harder, allowed lugging in the woods and helped starting. I had already gone through and had it jetted to a T. This made it even better.
