CR250 shifter seal?

I went out and looked at my bike today and noticed my shifter seal is leaking. what i'm wondering is if you can do that from the outside without splitting the cases. Its a 86 cr250. thanks.

Easy, no. But do able! Make sure there are no burrs on the counter shaft. Run a screw in each side of the seal, and pry it out. Make sure all the parts in there are good. Some have an o-ring that likes not getting put in properly, or the collar wearing out. Not even the seal. Vintage Bob
