Rear shock bearing seized

Hey everyone,

I have a 96 Yamaha WR250 which has it's swingarm and linkage in pieces so that I could grease goodies.

Anyways, I removed the shock and the upper bearing was seized. Some WD40 moved it around as it bled bright red from all of the rust. I couldn't beleive! I suppose the previous owner never touched the shock bearings as the linkage bearings were serviceable.

I am having trouble removing the shock bearings. I know these need to be pressed out/in, but there's a small circlip which keeps the bearing in place. I can NOT remove this damn clip. How can I pry this out so that I can take this to the bearing shop and have something new pressed in? Also, what kind of bearing is in this? I don't see any balls or needles. Just a round looking inner race inside a sleeve.

Its likely a Helm bearing, so it doesn't use balls.
Have you tried using a pair of snap ring pliers to remove this clip?
If not, you can get a pair for a couple of bucks.
