Hello everybody, moonrocks will be here before you know it!! This year my son, girlfriend and her daughter are coming. My question is, is anyone else bringing kids? The kids are 10, and 11 and are just play riders (g-friend too). Will anyone be leading a kids, and less experienced ride?

The problem for me is I'm one of the hardkore guys. Every year angryjim, his bro, me and a couple others leave for our all day rides! I want my little family to come, but I look forward to this ride all year, it one of my favorites!! I dont want to be selfish, so I hope there will be other people for them to ride with. Thanks,

I aint got any of them little rats but I'm sure that there will be a few of them there just like the last few years.

I like the hardcore stuff too buy I'd be more than happy to lead a kids/beginners ride on Saturday or Sunday.

Yes, I figured since jimmy is angry, I should be happy!

OH YEAH ALSO, CONGRATS TO ANGRYJIM FOR TAKING THE #1 PLATE FOR DISTRICT 36 VET B CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP (fall series) !!

I got 2nd place for Open B in the fall series. I hope to have more consistency in 04' (no more breakdowns, running out of gas!)

Nice name, and congratulations to you, too, Kelly! :)

Just wanted to add that Angry Jim earned his title on a tiny little 200cc bike! Nice work, Jim. Congrats on the championship and on getting bumped up to 'A' status.

I am going to try to make the Reno ride, but will have to be tenative until I see how work is shaping up.

Good to hear from you Dave. In a way I'm actually not too bummed I had some bad luck- stuff happen this year, because I might as well collect as many trohies as I can, before they bump me to A!! My goal is to take #1 for the spring series, by then I'll probably point out.

I will be bringing my kids this year, weather permitting, 14-12-11 year old girls, all beginners with only a couple of rides, been trying to get them out more, but they are always doing someyhing else or it's raining. As you know there is plenty of area for kids to play ride and be watched by adults.

There are ALWAYS dirtrider.net folks in the pits. If you are heading out with a group, just let others know to keep and eye on the kids. I am sure no one will mind standing by the fire watching the blender spin and glancing toward the little chillin's from time to time.

I was wondering where this event is exactly. Is there anywear I can get directions to the site and the time of ride start etc.

I would like to come but need to plan for it.

Basically the ride is just outside of Reno near Sparks at the Moonrocks area. Everyone posts when they are arriving, departing, where they are staying and info in the Attendance List thread.

Strick is the one that keeps us all organized with meeting times & places and bike storage. There is a group dinner (another thread) Saturday night at a Mexican place and there was talk of getting together Friday night I think at a Pizza joint.

A lot of people stay at the Peppermill casino, the motorlodge is the cheapest there but people stay in various other hotels and casinos and some, like the Canadians that come down to thaw out camp at Moonrocks but I think that's due to an overuse of the blender eh Pinball? ;)

Normal course of events - a week or so before the ride, Strick posts preliminary meeting info, along with his phone numbers and maps and we all straggle into Reno and hook up with Strick.

Some people will be in early enough to ride on Thursday, some on Friday, most on Saturday and the survivors ride Sunday with a few diehards getting in a ride on Monday. We usually meet in the Peppermill parking lot around 9 am or so and head out to the riding area from there. Those that know the way show up at Moonrocks.

There is a thread about snowboarding too some people are planning on hitting the slopes on various days too.

Easiest is to hop in on the Attendence List and see what works for you then post your info.

Hope that helps, after 14 pages of posts, there's a lot of info.
