I was helping my Grandma pack boxes up and found my Grandpa's old street helmet and looking for a new visor for it. The one on its all scratched up and smoke tinted so wont work for riding at night. I want this for quad riding in the winter. I have no idea who makes it (snell?) other than it says "Super Light Snell '80 cLc". Any thoughts or links to sites that might sell helmet visors for this helmet would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try a google/yahoo search for "helmet visors". You could always take it to your local dealer and see if they have something that fits.

"SNELL" is a helmet rating, more stringent than "DOT". Helmets are rated every 5 years, sounds like grandpa's helmet is from 1980. In theory, a helmet is only good for 5 years at a time, and replaced if impacted once. Try posting a pick here, or describing the helmet. Is it an open face, full face with pivoting visor? If you can't post a picture, find a simular looking helmet online and post a link. By visor, do you mean the "duck bill" that shades your eyes from the sun? Or the actual "lens" you look through? I am assuming you mean the later.

Here are some "visor" sites:

Hope this helps, Steve.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll checkout the links and see what i can find.

Steve, Yes this helmet is from the 80's (probably 84 when he got his kawi) and has only seen maybe 500 miles. So its in pretty good shape other than it looks like someone dropped in the gravel driveway on the visor. Its a full face helmet and i found out its made my Arai. Funny thing is i looked all over on the helmet for a name but never closed the visor while it was off my head so i didnt see the name right on the front. Duh! :bang: Oh i guess its probably more called a shield instead of visor so that might help with my searching on google. :)
